Who We Are Not

Juniper Russo, Megan Sandlin, and Maranda Dynda are real, live human beings, with real, live children, who have had real, live experiences.

We are not shills.

We are not sponsored.

We are not sockpuppets.

We are not brainwashed, chemtrailed, threatened, or otherwise manipulated.

We have no connection to any pharmaceutical industry, medical practice, or supplement business.

We are connected to vaccine-advocating nonprofits only as allies to a cause.

We came together as parents with a passion.

We made mistakes, we learned from them, and we hope that others can learn from them, too.

  1. Thank you so much for doing this.

I have advanced degrees in science and spent my career doing medical research. I have also been deep into the whole natural, healthy, green, alternative practice culture. Been on just about every way of eating idea mostly around vegetarian, vegan, macro concepts using all the super foods of the week, tried numerous alternative practices but never totally abandoned science-based medicine. I retired and went to live in South America for a couple of years. The village had a very large expat community mostly Americans, Canadians, Europeans, Australians with some Eastern Europeans/Russians and everyone was deeply involved in alternative health practices of all kinds and promoting their way of eating and healing as the only way at least for that week and of course they had all the products and services to sell to go with it. Many of these folks were conspiracy theorists as well, that part of the equation was very new to me. I had several years earlier come to the place where I no longer believed there was any one perfect way of eating for everyone. I watched the food "wars" and the alternative healing "wars" within this community. I saw people abandon meds, all science-based medicine and quite frankly critical thought and reason to follow all these ideas. I saw people sicken and a few even died when they did not have to because of some of the things they did or because they refused to see medical doctors. Two children died from medically preventable illnesses (1 type 1 diabetes, he was 8 years old and the other a 9 year old who was unvaccinated and died from a complication from the measles he contracted) because their irresponsible parents made poor, ignorant choices for them. I always spoke out against the anti-vaccine crowd but this experience living in this community and all of the things I heard well-meaning and frequently well-educated people doing in the name of natural or health totally pushed me over the edge. I returned to the US and I have been very outspoken about so many of the things you very brave folks are talking about. I wish you all much success, it is not an easy road. Let me know how I can be supportive. And again, thank you for your articles.

    1. Type 1 diabetes isn't preventable. Do you mean treatable here?

  2. This page is great, it shows exactly how horrible the conspiracy cult is getting. It's like the quacks and conspiracy book authors/conspiracy website owners are the Jim Jones and all their little minions are sucking down the cyanide that is "natural living". So many people are dying due to holistic and alternative med quackery. Kiddos are being killed by their crazy parents because their crazy parents don't believe in modern medicine to treat serious illnesses like cancer, hepatitis or HIV. For a while in my early 20's i was into some of the conspiracy BS and thought that maybe they were suppressing some natural "cures". Then i started following the science, i was reading all the studies i could find and was finding out just how much bullshit the conspiracy people out there really peddle. Today i hate all conspiracy cult ideology. Chemtrails, reptilian aliens, chiropractic, anti-vaccination bs, anti-gmo bs, alternative medicine, fad diets, 9/11 truthing, other "truthing", etc are all just brainwashing techniques designed so the conspiracy sheep will pay money to websites, ads, conspiracy book authors or quacks. I'm appalled to think that i was once conned by some of it. What you're doing here is fantastic, you're outing the wicked, you're telling the world just how dangerous and stupid "natural" living can be. Keep up the good work :)
